NEWTON SHIELD COMPETITIONS 2012 

Member clubs have asked for clarification concerning a recent circular in respect of the Junior Newton Shield league. The circular was intended to addressed two quite distinct issues.
Firstly, and for the avoidance of doubt, the Newton Shield is a scratch competition. This means that ALL individual matches in each league fixture are to be played off scratch. This issue was discussed by club captains, who decided that the status quo would remain. 

Secondly, after discussion, captains agreed that in Junior Newton Shield matches agreement must be made between the Junior Team Managers as to whether or not reserves will be in attendance. Contact between the Managers of the respective teams should take place no later than 48 hours prior to the match. This agreement should prevent disappointment.

If any doubt exists, clubs are requested to contact the Executive Committee as soon as possible.
